Inside GWT compiler. How it works, and dose it use some interim outputs(eg XML )

Hi all,

I have seen some similar question on the forum but I cannot find it :)
Can someone point me out to a good reed. Ofcourse I have done, long time a go, digging inside the source code, but a little help wouldnt be harmful.
Its for a uni research.
