Is your Chrome already 64-bit? If yes, the plugin is only compatible to 32-bit Chrome. Also Chrome is removing NPAPI plugin support (which the GWT plugin needs) so in the future you would need to use SuperDevMode + Chrome or use an older Chrome version. Same for FireFox and the Opera version based on Chrome.
