GWT to VB.NET public function

Dear Users,

I was wondering to know that whether it is possible to make a connection between GWT and public function created in VB.NET like what we did in jQuery using $.ajax method post, or not. if it is so, I would be very thankful if someone provide a sample or a tutorial.
