Sorry that was a typo,

@Service(locator = AppServiceLocator.class, value = 
EmployeeService.class) 

public interface EmployeeRequest extends RequestContext { 

// InstanceRequest<EmployeeProxy, Void> persist(); 

Request<Void> persist(EmployeeProxy employeeProxy); // this is right

} 

and while calling, 

Request<Void> createReq = request.persist().using(newEmployee); // wrong

request.persist(newEmployee).fire(); // correct

I suggest you read the RF documentation!
