local storage event

hi,

i want to use the gwt local storage support to do a cross browser tab communication.
in both tabs i registered a storage event handler with the Storage.addStorageEventHandler method.
but when i changed the storage by means of e.g. storage.setItem in one tab the event is not fired on the other tab.

both tabs are loading the same gwt module in the html file
