Make sure you have only one GWT version on your classpath. The gwt/dev/asm classes are in gwt-servlet.jar, which should be the only GWT jar you need on the server side (along with validation-api.jar and json.jar).

Also, in order to get the benefits of Guice injection for RF services, you'll need a little more sophistication. See http://wanderingcanadian.posterous.com/?tag=requestfactory and Thomas Broyer's previous posts in this forum.
