One post claims that dead code will be ignored by the compiler, but
that doesn't seem to be the case as readObject(ObjectInputStream in)
is definitely not called on the client and yet the compiler complains
about ObjectInputStream not being included in client source.
The other posts all seem to suggest using helper classes.
I take it there is no mechanism to flag a method to be ignored then.
