BTW, do (did) you also reproduce the behavior with an earlier version of GWT?
I believe earlier versions compile properly. If they didn't, we should have noticed this behaviour earlier: Following our last deployment, AppCache update events started firing aggressively due to the differences in manifest files deployed to each node. I will try narrowing it down to a specific version and/or code fragment ASAP.
