it seems that you need some version newer than gwt-2.8.0-beta1 to work with vaadin-gwt-polymer-elements-1.2.1.0; however you can use vaadin-gwt-polymer-elements-1.1.3.0-alpha1 with gwt-2.7.0 + "-XjsInteropMode JS"
