How to save data for both GAE and Tomcat?

Hi,

I'm in the start of integrating some storage system for my pet project.

During development I'm using GAE. Someday I'm gonna release the app probably to a Tomcat server.

Is the GWT Datastore limited to be used with GAE? If so, is there any storage technique I can use on both servers?
