GWT and Python

Hi all,
I was following the Google IO keynotes this year and having done so last year also noticed a few things with respect to App
engine.

Google has been making a lot of announcements and adding a lot of features to GWT, a java based framework. Python on the
other hand doesn't feature anywhere in google's announcements :( . Does this mean that Google is trying to promote GWT+java
for appengine, in the long run ?

Also how can i use the features available in GWT using python as a language of my choice for app-engine.
