I'm using GWT Material in two commercial projects and I'm quite satisfied with it. It's not really "desktop like" but more focused on responsive views - great for mobile and desktop.
In my opinion, nowadays, you should really consider starting a project that works good for mobile devices from day 1 (mobile-first).

I am looking for a GWT Widget Library with basic desktop-like elements like Smart GWT [1]?
Unfortunately Smart GWT is not really cheap. Is there a library that you can recommend me?
Best regards and thank you for any hints.
Stefan
