dateItem = new DateItem("expDate");
This is not a GWT SDK class, so no idea if you will get useful answers here.
dateItem.setEndDate(new Date(2030,1,1) );// is it possible to set the date to 2030 ? **********************************
java.util.Date constructor takes a year from which you have to subtract 1900 (see Javadoc). So for year 2030 you would need to use new Date(2030-1900, 1, 1)
