AFAICT, this is more or less what they were already doing in Wave: http://www.google.com/events/io/2010/sessions/gwt-continuous-build-testing.html (see https://github.com/apache/wave/tree/trunk/src/org/waveprotocol/wave/client/widget/toolbar for an example)
