Store RootPanel component state

Hi,

Is it possible to store the current components present in the browser
at a particular so that the same
could be loaded later on. I am tryinng to do something like this

RootPanel rp = RootPanel.get();

//do some displays and after that display original

RootPanel.get().clear();

RootPanel.get().add(rp);

is this even valid?
