Center content of DockLayoutPanel North?

How could I center everything that is placed eg in the north/east/west/south segment of a docklayoutpanel?
The following does not work...
<ui:style>	
  .align {
     float: center;
  }
</ui:style>

<g:DockLayoutPanel>    <g:north styleName='{style.align}'><g:Label>A</g:Label></g:north>
