Re: Found an inconsistent behaviour in GWT Expenses Roo application: Master-Detail Activities-Places becoming out of Sync !

1- so all the effort that goes into creating a Bookmarkable and Navigable Master/Detail Activity goes to waste ?
2- what is the point of using Activity/Places to create this Master/Detail scenario, if it is not going to function properly ?
3- can you think of a User Experience that says it is ok for Master/Detail activities to be out of sync ?
4- do you think end-users, management, or non-gwt developers would consider this an acceptable implementation ?

I had thought about the solutions you suggested, but as you mentioned, the question is how to find the "page" containing the item ?
it is possible to keep a mapping of item's (id, row, and page number) in a map, and use that to set the correct page,
but this doesnt work if more records are added, and item falls into another page, or when the list activity is started for the first time,
and our map is not populated yet.

One possible solution would be for the CellTable to move to the "page" containing the item, when selectionModel.setSelected is called.
I have asked a similar question here: https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!topic/google-web-toolkit/xA2oNW6KiJo

can you please give your thoughts on the questions I asked at the beginning of "this" post ?
unfortunately my view when it comes to those questions, are mainly negative,
I think that if Master/Detail activities are not going to be properly bookmarkable/navigable,
what is the point of implementing them using Activity/Places ? and that all the effort going to waste : (

can something be done to fix this ? some workable solution ? : (

Thank You

Re: GWT + JSP = AdSense-Content?

I haven't seen anyone doing a full-on system with "html" pages and GWT widgets, but it can be done, even though I personally think GWT was not designed for this.
Maybe have a look at the hash-bang ( #! ) as an option, Google bots have a special way of indexing pages using hashbang (they send a special type of request to root page which you can then handle and send back different content specially crafted for the bot, don't know if adsense will work in the same way

We need content-related ads, thats why im asking for that.

Another Solution could be stop developing with gwt an use JSF
instead... Hm...

Re: RequestFactoryEditorDriver example?

Another problem...

I tried your suggestion and it seems to work with one important problem:
the object/proxy returned is the original proxy passed to the editor and not the edited object...

any idea what might be wrong?

Run method after GWT compiling

Hi all,
Pls help me with the following 2 problems.

I generating the objects with generator. inside generator I need save generated class name to global property.
After last generator was finish, I need save all this classNames to custom file.

So,
1) How can I use some global property to save classNames, or how I can get all generated classNames.
2) How can I detect when is last class generated, or how can I run some method after GWT compiling.

Thanks
Joseph

Re: SEVERE: The Cell Widget is attempting to render itself within the render loop

I get the same error when my Column getValue uses a Date. If it uses
any other type of object it goes ok.
Maybe a bug from google guys?

Re: RequestFactoryEditorDriver example?

One question,

how can I initialize the driver in a 'newObject' scenario, if I don't want to edit an existing object but create a new one instead.

Re: Spring ROO GWT with GIN injection on widgets created by ui:binder.

What framework are you using to do your MVP stuff? this looks a lot like gwt-presenter or gwtp.

Ignoring GIN for a second, because this is easier to illustrate without DI,

add the method

public Widget getView() {
 return display.asWidget();
}

RorPresenter presenter = new RorPresenter(new RorView(), eventBus);
presenter.bind();
RootPanel.get().add(presenter.getView());

This should get you your button clicks to give you your Window.alerts.
