Re: IntelliJ 2026.3 GWT Plugin state

In August it was said that Jetbrains has to sort out some legal details. Once that is done it will be forked and live under gwtproject so community can keep it compatible.

I haven't tried building the plugin so far but if you are feeling adventurous you can try editing https://github.com/JetBrains/intellij-obsolete-plugins/blob/master/gwt/gradle.properties and change platformVersion from 2026.2 to 2026.3

If you then build the plugin it should be compatible with 2026.3 beta. In IntelliJ you can then install the plugin from disk. The option is hidden behind the gear icon on the plugins window.

Hi everyone,

I am currently testing IntelliJ 2026.3 Beta and noticed that the GWT plugin is not compatible with this version.

I found a ticket regarding moving GWT to obsolete plugins [1], but I am unsure of the current status [2]. Could anyone share insights on the future of this plugin? I primarily rely on it for UI binding support.

Thanks,
