Re: Best server communication

I've made some apps but still using RPC. I was wondering now if there were a better way than that for server communication. 

RPC is probably the most convenient for beginners, but if you think you may need to push messages to the client at some point, I'd just go for a plain websocket solution instead and de-/serialize your objects as JSON.  I've done that with Jackson on the serverside and GWT-Jackson on the clientside together with a few lines of javascript to open the websocket.  Pretty simple, but effective and flexible.
