SVG with GWT

Hi,

I would like to use SVG graphics with GWT. When looking for a solution, you always come across lib-gwt-svg:

However, I do not want to create unnecessary dependencies, but this library's version is strongly dependend on the version of GWT. For every GWT version there is a special version of lib-gwt-svg.

Why is there such a tight dependency? What are the changes in GWT that let lib-gwt-svg stop working if not upgraded to the next version?

Are there alternatives, i. e. a smart library that you include in your project without having to worry about when upgrading GWT?

Thanks
Magnus
