Job Title: Network Implementation Engineer ( L2 LAN)

Location: WA

Duration: 6 Months

 

The Enterprise LAN Engineer is responsible for meeting with the client's Business Unit representatives to determine business requirements, selecting the appropriate technical solution from the client's approved architectural standards, creating and documenting the engineering configuration necessary to meet the client's business requirements, submitting the design to the change control board and obtaining approval to proceed.  This person will then implement the change within an appropriate outage window, and will provide post-cutover support until the devices are accepted by the Operations group for ongoing support.  This is not an Operations role.

 

The following skills are required for the Level 2 Enterprise LAN Engineer: 

• 802.3 Ethernet Bridging and Switching Standards

• Provides daily project support services in the Americas region. 

• Support relationships with key upstream IT delivery organizations (IP Services, application support, etc.)

• LAN Capacity and performance analysis for project planning.

• Business As Usual (BAU) network software and hardware maintenance projects.

• Support project quality metrics. 

• Provide technology leadership to other members of network team.

• Experience with Wide Area Load Balancing (like GSS) and Local Area Load Balancing (CSS/ACE) Architecture a plus

In addition, the following WLAN skills are a plus:

• Experience reading and analyzing an Enterprise WLAN Site Survey in a plus.

• Experience performing WLAN Site Surveys a plus.

• Experience configuring LWAPs and Wireless Controllers a plus.

• Experience using Airmagnet desired.

 

Industry Knowledge:

• 802.3 Standards (802.11A/B/G/N Standards a plus)

• Computer Networking

• Familiar with Fiber Optic standards used in campus switching environment

• LANS/WANS

• Switches – Cisco Catalyst platform (VLANs, trunking)

• Wiring  Standards

• Knowledge / and or experience with Protocols OSPF, BGP, EIGRP and other related technologies (Multicast, IP Video and IP Telephony).

• CCNA / CCNP / CCDP skill levels requested (actual certs are not required)
