Development mode testing in IE 11, Chrome

Hello,

I have a nice new Windows 8.1 laptop and I am all set with the latest Eclipse and GWT 2.6.0...  except...

I need to use the Development mode and I cannot launch my application in IE11 and I cannot launch it in Chrome.  I am still investigating the IE problem but Chrome will not let me install the plugin...

How can I launch and test my application in one of these browsers?  I know about the Firefox version 27 issue and I am not going there but I need to be able to develop/test using IE and Chrome.
