GWT branch is there just to be able to keep our brach living with the release cycle of Vaadin Framework as we package whole GWT inside Vaadin. It is quite a bit different from GWT. (Vaadin has a maintenance release every 2-3 weeks and 2-4 minor releases per year). We try to keep our branch as close to upstream as possible.
All Vaadin components have data bindings. Take a look at https://vaadin.com/book/vaadin7/-/page/datamodel.html

I really need to give a try to Vaadin. You seems to do a really great work. What is the purpose of the GWT branch maintened by Vaadin team? What is the difference between the offical one? Why should I use it?
Does Vaadin can help me doing databiding with datasource for exemple? Will it help me actualize data that fill my grids and other UI Widget?
Thanks
