How to show a widget upon a canvas?

Hi,

how can I show Widgets upon a Canvas?
I want to display a TextBox in a specific position onto a canvas.

I guess the right way is to add the TextBox to the canvas-wrapping Panel?
And is so, how can I align the box then?
