Adding styling to a SelectionModel

Can anyone please tell me how to apply styling to each option in a SelectionModel (if its even possible)?

I can't seem to find any examples on showcase or anywhere else for that matter.

ie If I have two options in the drop down menu and option 1 is chosen, the cell will be colored blue, if i choose option 2 the cell will be colored yellow.
