You need to include slf4j-api-<xxx>.jar into the classpath and
possible WEB-INF/lib and prepare a log4j.properties under your src
folder. I think you better have a bit knowledge of log4j first.

I have encountered a hell lot of problem when setting up and using
Gilead. It's a black box and you can't get much support about Gilead
in this mail group. I used it because there was no such persistence
support in GWT 2.0. But with requestFactory introduced in GWT 2.1, I
think you better invest your time with that new feature.
