Re: IOS7 poor canvas performance (with touch) & backward comp. issues

Speaking of the devil...

Had tried iOS 7.0.4 on Thursday to see if anything changed--nothing. Last night iOS 7.1 beta was released and....its fixed. So the canvas/touchmove performance issue was a Safari bug it seems (thankfully). Like I said in the first post, the pinch not working seems to be an intentional Safari API change.

We ran into some serious issues with IOS7 (not much difference between safari and chrome I think).

Panning on the canvas is throttled, slow, and broken compared to IOS6 (touchmove events are used). Anyone else run into something like this?

Also gesture recognition is not backward comp it seems. I read somewhere that gesture events were moved from document to window with IOS7. Is there changes in 2.6 that remedy this?
