Hilco gave the right answer, that's a maven log

you've got to tell Maven to use UTF-8 during processing (otherwise it
will fallback to system encoding : ) :

<project>
...
<properties>
<project.build.sourceEncoding>UTF-8</project.build.sourceEncoding>
</properties>
...
</project>
